A marvellous bottling of extremely well aged whisky from Speyside cult favourite, Craigellachie.
 
Originally released in 2017 as a travel retail exclusive, this bottling is increasingly rare. Craigellachie is known for producing an unusual, old fashioned style of spirit, with the use of worm tubs condensers creating a meaty and weighty spirit.
The bottling has been aged for fully 33 years, and shows signs of some sherry maturation, ensuring a deep and complex flavour profile.
 
Craigellachie 33 offers a muscular and intense palate, with notes of roasted pineapples, dark honey, thick vanilla custard, clove studded orange rind, leather, raisins, toffee, pastry almond, beeswax, dark chocolate, overripe bananas, mint, apples, malty bread and butter, oats and peaches. A ludicrously complex and delicious dram.
 
This whisky is bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, meaning the drinker enjoys the full benefit of Craigellachie’s unique style and 33 years of maturation.
 
Limited to just 1,700 bottles worldwide at its initial release, it is certain that few of these remain available for general sale.
